Octahedrone news! Godot showreel and updates.

Hi everyone!

That’s it! Octahedrone was featured in Godot’s 2023 showreel that you can watch here. It’s an honor to have my game used to showcase this amazing free libre and open source engine capabilities. It’s also very motivating.

In January I created a new element for the game, plasma balls, that are now used to replenish your energy. It’s making the gameplay way more interesting and involved than before. I joined a gamplay session where you can see this in action.

I also added the character Quartz to the game. Quartz was initially only planned to appear in cut-scenes, but the game was missing something, it was feeling too abstract. Quartz interjections help to ground everything. It also gives you precious information that would be boring displayed other-wise.

The next step is to work on the tutorial section of the game. I expect to be able to finish it by the end of the month.

I updated the website a bit too, and I think I’ll start working on a steam page in the near future.

Thanks for following and supporting the development of the game. It’s releasing this year, and a beta is releasing on itch.io soon.
